Red Circles when Extracting (duplicated surface points)

Red circles when extracting | Back to User Tips

Q) When I extract points to a surface I sometimes get little red circles on every point I select. Where are they coming from? How did I get these?

A) The order of operation that causes the red circle problem is this:

1) Extract a set of points to your named surface.

2) Extract breaklines to the same named surface.

3) Extract more points to the same named surface BUT in doing so you have picked some duplicate points. Only the duplicates will have the red circles. Be careful not to pick the duplicate points. If you need to - start the surface over by clearing before extract.

A simple way to remove the red circles is to run the ESEL command (type it in), and pick one of the red circles, then press enter.  They will all be removed automatically.  Then redo your surface with the Clear Before Extract option turned on while extracting the points.
