Introducing the launch of MapScenes and Evidence Recorder for the LITE user

MicroSurvey announces this month two new products for the Accident Reconstruction software market: MapScenes Lite and Evidence Recorder LITE.

After having established its products as the premier tools for the Professional Reconstructionist, MicroSurvey created new tools for officers who collect data using traditional methods of steel tape or measuring wheel. Evidence Recorder LITE, based on Microsoft Windows CE, has special Baseline-Offset measuring programs and room drawing tools that allow officers immediate graphical feedback while entering evidence points. An additional Evidence Logging tool logs the custody of evidence. Create your spreadsheet file from the beginning while you are at the scene, eliminating the need to prepare the log twice.

The desktop companion, MapScenes LITE, has a streamlined interface for the casual user, but it is built with robust tools for the advanced user. With over 7,000 symbols, a built-in vehicle database of cars from 1973 to present, extensive reconstruction formulas, and tremendous industry file compatibility, it sets the new standard of under $1,000 for crash and crime scene diagramming tools.

MapScenes LITE makes filing a report with a crash or crime scene diagram as easy as starting a car. MapScenes LITE operates in Beginner or Advanced mode and includes a complete 3D scene diagramming tool.

If you are collecting physical evidence with a tape measure or simple electronic distance meter, Evidence Recorder LITE is an easy upgrade.

Its graphic-driven interface is the easiest in the industry. Evidence Recorder LITE is fully compatible with industry-standard hardware tools such as the Toughbook or Compaq iPAQ, and downloads evidence in seconds to your laptop or PC.

View your scene diagram as you measure it at the scene, or report and play back audio notes - just a few features of Evidence Recorder LITE.

Tip of the Month:
ESEL - Erase Selected Items Command

ESEL is a command that few even know exists. What is ESEL? ESEL is a command that Erases SELected items from the drawing. You pick on a specific item, such as a polyline, and the command will automatically erase ALL polylines on the same layer that the selected item was on. It does not touch anything else on that same layer and does not touch polylines on any other layer. It is handy to help clean up a drawing.

ESEL can be typed at the command prompt in MapScenes.

You can also set up an Alias or desktop button to run ESEL, if desired.
