User Tips ESEL Command Type ESEL at the command prompt ESEL is a command that Erases SELected items from the drawing. Pick on a specific item, such as a Polyline and the command will automatically erase ALL Polylines on the same layer that the selected item was on. It does not touch anything else on that layer or on any other layer. It is handy to clean up the drawing. You can also set up an Alias or desktop button to run ESEL. Setting up an Alias Start at the File Menu and Choose Configure When the Configuration box opens, choose the Alias Commands Tab Choose the New button In the New Alias command box, type the Alias Name you are giving the command. In this case I chose E. Then I typed in ESEL for the command. Choose OK and then Apply. The next time I need the command I can type in E and hit Enter and the command will prompt me to select objects. Making a Desktop Button Move your mouse of an empty space on the left toolbar. You will notice a square becomes available. Right click and the button configuration box becomes available. Again the command is ESEL. Images for the buttons are found in the C:\MapScenesPro\Common\Mnp_bmp folder. In this case I used Paint and created my own image. The tooltip I chose describes exactly what the button will do if I click on it. When my mouse hovers over the button, Erase Selected is what appears. I don't need any Helptext associated so I left it blank. I also toggled the Protected box on to prevent accidental removal. Choose ok and a new button is on the desktop. |
